The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to resume its vetting process for nominees to various ministerial positions later today, Thursday, March 7.
Following Tuesday's session, during which five nominees were vetted, the committee will reconvene to continue the process.
However, today's proceedings will deviate from the usual schedule, starting at 5 pm instead of the typical 9 a.m.
This adjustment is attributed to an emergency meeting convened for the Minority leadership.
The information was disclosed by the First Deputy Speaker, who also serves as the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament in a media interview.
“Unfortunately, we have an emergency and we have to rearrange our sitting time. Originally, we were supposed to start at 9:00 but our friends from the Minority have an issue that requires that all their leadership will be out of Parliament from morning till about 4 pm.
"So we have rescheduled our sitting to 5 pm and considering four nominees, we have decided to do two and reschedule the remaining two."
“We intended to finish the ministers, but unfortunately, we have to reschedule them so we will do two of the ministers and then add the remaining two of the deputy ministers," he said.
