Ghanaian swimmer Abeku Jackson says his dual medal winning feat is a stepping stone towards future success in the sport.
The Team Ghana captain made history by ending Ghana's long-standing medal drought at the continental event, securing the country's first-ever medal on Day 2.
He clinched silver in the Men's 50m Butterfly final with an impressive time of 24.23 seconds.
Jackson also bagged a bronze in the contentious rescheduled Men's 100m Butterfly final on Day 4, clocking in at 53.80 seconds.
"Its a stepping stone. My first African Games was in Morocco, I manage to be in top five, top four," he said.
"I was fifth and fourth in individual events, now I am on the podium. Who knows what the next African Games will hold for me.
"It's exciting to be here, exciting to be the host nation, exciting to hear the fans shout for you. It's exciting to hear everyone behind and supporting you. My family, my friends, I just want to say thank you."
Elsewhere on day four, Mensah Joselle finishes fourth in the Women's 50m Breaststroke Heat 2 with a time of 33.73 and was enough to see her through to the finals scheduled at 17:00GMT.
