Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has hailed Black Satellites striker Jerry Afriyie describing him as a player who could go on to become a star.
The 17-year-old was one of the integral parts of Desmond Ofei's squad for the 2023 African Games as Ghana won gold.
Afriyie scored a 90th-minute winner for the Black Satellites in the final of the competition taking his tally to three in five games having also scored in previous games.
The youngster's performance caught the attention of the former Black Stars captain who believes the abilities of the player could propel him to the top.
"Jerry Afriyie is a very good player, Technically, he is good and he is a workaholic too. Despite a bit of inexperience in his movement off the ball, he is still very good," Gyan said on Asempa FM.
"His ball-striking ability is good as well. There's no wonder he scored three goals in the tournament. He's good technically. With good training and advice, he will go far."
The Thoughts Football Club forward will be looking to build on his performance at the competition and go on to fulfil his potential as highlighted by Ghana's all-time top scorer.
