Flagbearer and founder of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has revealed the motive behind his vision to become the president of the country.
According to him, the vulnerability of people shifted his attention from the business and corporate world to politics and leadership.
Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Nana Kwame Bediako stressed that poverty is the major problem facing Ghanaians.
“I had just had enough of being a successful boy who is standing alone and has to respond to everyone including those he loves, or cares about,” he said on Hitz FM.
He further shared details of the circumstances leading to his decision to run for president.
“It is not a big thing for me because I came from poverty and I had my experience on the streets. After the corporate world, I went into the philanthropic world, then into the industrial world which is still ongoing and now I am in the leadership world”.
“I realised that when people are vulnerable and are in a certain state in life, he who decides to move forward and help them would become the hero and the legacy of that generation. I looked at that and it moved me from the business to the corporate world and then into the leadership world”, he said.
He also highlighted his characteristics which make him capable of being the president.
“It is something I think I was prepared to do because I have the courage, wisdom and knowledge to do what it takes to step up for the youth and people who have been sitting for forty to fifty years saying nothing. Someone had to do something”, he added.
