Rapper Derrick Sarfo Kantanka well known as Amerado in the showbiz circles said he cannot turn his back on rap music.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he said the name ‘Amerado’ has always been known for rap music.
“Most of the time, I believe that if someone does singing for seven years and does rap for two years or one, it doesn't wipe out all the hard work he has done as a rapper. Everyone who knows me knows that I can never turn my back on rap music.
“I am not turning into a singer, I think I am now telling people how good I am and how well I am, to get out of my comfort zone. Amerado has always been known as a rapper and I am always going to stick to that”, he said on Hitz FM.
However, the rapper clarified that he has not made more money from music as compared to rap.
According to him, singing was just a means of exposure to a wider network.
“It is never true that singing had paid off more than the rap but rather, both have helped me equally.
"The singing introduced me to a wider and new set of audience but I can never turn my back on people who helped me through my hardcore rapping days”, he added.
When asked to choose between rap music and singing, the music chose rap over music. The musician made his stance on music though it seemed difficult to do so at first hand.
“I am grateful to me rapping and singing, it’s just me trying to evolve and find myself properly. The fact that I sing or rap does not mean I will forgo one but if I choose between them, it will be rap over singing”, he stated.
