The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected an appeal from the Algeria Football Federation against the CAF Interclubs Committee, which allowed RS Berkane football club to don their jerseys for their Sunday match against the host USM Algiers.
The CAF Interclubs appeals committee had earlier on Saturday okayed Berkane to wear their jersey for their CAF Confed Cup quarterfinal 1st leg against the Algerian Federation, which had requested a restriction on its use.
In its ruling, the CAF interclub committee ‘found Berkane’s jersey within the framework of the Total Energies Confederation Cup 2023/24 and dismissed the complaint.

The Algeria Football Federation seemed not satisfied with the inter-clubs committee ruling and decided to appeal to the CAF appeals jury, which gave the ruling on Sunday evening.
Barkane will play USMA in the first leg, with the overall winner facing the winner between Zamalek of Egypt and Dreams of Ghana in this year’s final.
