Asante Kotoko ended their seven-game winless run with a controversial 1-0 win over league leaders, Samartex, on Sunday.
The win, sends the struggling Kumasi based side 5 points clear of the relegation zone, amid increasing pressure on the club’s technical team.
Before the Samartex win, Kotoko had lost six and drawn one of their last seven games.
Kotoko Head Coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum, who had received a vote of confidence from his employers during the week, stressed the importance of getting back to winning ways.
“Once you win, you’re okay, It’s now about keeping the focus,” he said.
“The game is about results, especially when you’re coaching a team like Asante Kotoko.
“It doesn’t matter how well you play. Even if you don’t play well and win, it’s okay,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will travel to Tarkwa to take on defending champions, Medeama in their next Ghana Premier League fixture.
