Authorities of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), have launched investigations into the death of a cleaner who is said to have jumped from the 7th floor of a hostel building.
This was after he was accused of rape by a female student.
The incident happened on Saturday morning at the UPSA hostel. The supposed rape victim is a level 100 student, while the perpetrator is said to be a cleaner on the same floor where the girl stays.
According to the victim, two of her roommates were already out of the room when the perpetrator entered the room and proceeded to assault her before she screamed for help.
The suspected attacker is said to have jumped to his death through a window when the screams of the supposed victim attracted other students who rushed there to rescue her.
Neither the police nor school authorities have commented on the incident.
