Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has bemoaned the team’s poor finishing following their 1-1 draw against Medeama on Saturday in a Ghana Premier League week 28 game.
Ogum believes his team has been dealing with goal scoring problems throughout the season despite their intense training on it and scoring many goals in training.
The Porcupine Warriors took the lead after inside half an hour through Stephen Mukwala but gave away a penalty in the second half and drew the game in the end.
Speaking after the game, Prosper Ogum spoke extensively about his team’s lack of cutting edge.
“It's been happening throughout the season. We create a lot of chances, but then the conversion is the issue. Interestingly too, we've been training on it. They score a lot of goals at training.
“But then the tempo and the temperament of training and games are different. They need to be positionally aware of where they are, apply the right technique, and put the ball at the back of the net.
“So they are right. I think we still need to work on it and make sure that the few chances that come our way, we will be able to convert.”
