A clash between supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at a voting transfer centre in Yendi resulted in two people, including a media professional, sustaining injuries.
The altercation occurred when a group allegedly transported from Tamale arrived in the constituency to transfer their votes on Tuesday.
The situation intensified when NDC agents attempted to challenge the legitimacy of these individuals, leading to a violent confrontation.
Among the injured was a media professional who is the manager of Sakara Radio in Yendi.
He was at the centre to monitor the voting transfer process when he sustained a razor blade cut on his neck during the melee.
The incident highlights the heightened tensions and potential for violence surrounding the voting transfer process in the region.
