Home-based Player of the Year, Emmanuel Keyekeh, has called for ‘extra’ hard work from his teammates at Samartex as they prepare for their inaugural Africa challenge.
The Samreboi-based side will make their debut in the CAF Champions League next season, having clinched the Ghana Premier League title.
Samartex secured the championship with two games to spare, finishing the season on 61 points.
"It has been an amazing season and all thanks to God, we also worked hard for it,” the Captain told JoyPrime.
"We need to work hard for it [CAF Champions League] because it is a different stage, big stage that we need to work extra hard for it. Either than that, we cannot achieve our game.”
Keyekeh had an unfortunate spell at Asante Kotoko before bouncing back to lead Samartex to the title with 32 appearances and five goals.
"With Kotoko, after first three games, I went out with injury that took me out for about five months. After the long term injury, when I came back, I was a bit slow with six games left to end the season."
Samartex will begin training on July 1st as they hope to prepare adequately for their maiden continental competition.
