The special aide to NPP running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed confidence that the governing party can secure 85% of the presidential vote in the Ashanti Region.
He stated that the party has consistently surpassed expectations and defied political commentators by securing more votes than predicted.
“There were several pundits who said the NPP was not going to win the election in 2016, especially because of the tag against the presidential candidate [Nana Akufo-Addo] that he was arrogant or what have you.
"I remember it was that time that the NPP was able to also garner the most resounding victory ever since that dispensation of our democracy since 1992.
"I do not believe that such a target is not achievable with my belief in the election prowess of Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh,” he said on Joy News’ PM Express.

“We want 85% in the Ashanti region,” he said.
Supporting his boss, the Old-Tafo MP noted that times and seasons change, and the party's fortunes should not be compared to the past.
He stated that the 2024 election comes with its dynamics, as the party has young, invigorating candidates who have proven themselves when given the opportunity to serve.
Mr Assafuah is convinced that with a mix of election tactics and the achievements of the Akufo-Addo government, the Ashanti region will honour the party with 85% of the votes.
He acknowledged that there may be individuals in the Ashanti Region who are dissatisfied with certain aspects, but he believes that considering the overall achievements of the government, they will still vote for the NPP.
“Dr. Opoku-Prempeh talked about how the achievements of President Nana Akufo-Addo far outweigh what Nkrumah did,” he said.
