Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati has described his performance in the men's 100m semifinal as 'one of his worst' this season.
Azmati raced to a ninth-place finish in his semifinal on Sunday as he missed out on a place in the final of the sprint event.
The 26-year-old finished with a time of 10.17s with Seville Oblique winning the race while Noah Lyles and Hinchliffe Louie came third.
Azamati admitted he could have done a lot better.
"Being in the semi-final, I think, was good for me. But I couldn't put together a good race," he said.
"It was not one of my best races this season. I'd say it's probably one of the worst. But I can't complain."
For Azamati, it was a step better than what he did at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 when he failed to make the semis.
He is, however, looking ahead to the 2028 Olympics.
"There is still Olympics in 2028 and the World Championships next year, so my head is still high," he added.
"I just have to get back to training. It's still a learning process. The only way we can move forward is by not giving up."
Azamati will now be looking at a positive outing with Ghana's 4x100m relay team in Paris.
