Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto Planning Committee, Dr Peter Boamah Otukonor has stated that the party is incomparable to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to JoyNews on Friday, August 23, ahead of the NDC’s manifesto launch, Dr. Otukonor criticised the content of the ruling NPP's manifesto.
According to him, the NPP's document was substandard and lacked sincerity in its policy proposals.
“What they did is sub-standard, the content of their policy lacks sincerity, it actually lacks understanding. The source of their policy proposal is even defective. The inconsistency in the policies, the policies is coherent and all that,” he said.
Dr Otukonor further asserted that the NPP government is disconnected from Ghanaians, which is why they are witnessing the strong response from Ghanaians to the policy proposals of former President and NDC flagbearer, John Mahama.
He argued that the NPP government has been copying the NDC’s policies, noting that many of the policies announced by the NPP during their manifesto launch had already been publicly introduced by Mr Mahama.
“It will take only a government that has lost sight of reality and that has no original plans and proposals for the people to copy our policy and that’s what they did.
“That is why they are not able to explain the policies as we are able to explain the policy. And so we’re going to see in addition to what we will be announcing, a bit more robust policies that you and I when we listen to the modalities and the implementation plans, we will be heavily convinced,” he added.
