After months without action, the Uefa Champions League returns to Joy FM and Hitz FM with the 2024/25 season the beginning of a new format for the flagship European club competition.
Beginning Tuesday, September 17, Joy FM and Hitz FM, home of the Champions League for at least the past 20 seasons, will once again treat listeners to riveting radio commentary throughout the season, with a live game each match week, culminating with the Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey at the end of May 2025.
The opening day of the season will see Teal Madrid open their title defence against German side Stuttgart, while Liverpool renew rivalries with AC Milan.
This year's format promises lots of games with a league format featuring 36 clubs. The 36 clubs will participate in a single league competition where they will all be ranked together.
Aston Villa faced Young Boys in the early kickoff fixture with Juventus also hosting PSV at the same time.
With its return, the Champions League will be played from now until the final.
The Multimedia Group has radio rights to the Champions League until 2025, in partnership with DStv SuperSport.
The Joy FM and Hitz FM radio commentary of the UEFA champions league is led by an exciting group of commentators including Joy Sports Editor, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, Daniel Koranteng, Atsu Tamakloe and Sitsofe Philip Atsrim.
