One of Ghana’s talented creatives, Trey La, is about to dazzle the world with his double-release: a song and a book.
Trey La, known in real life as Dumenu Charles Selorm, has released a 6-track EP and an accompanying book titled, ‘The Money Trey.’
This project, showcases Trey La's unmatched creativity and ambition as a bag of talents connecting the worlds of music and literature.
The EP features six tracks that delve into relatable life themes, proving his lyrical prowess and perspective on modern day challenges.
The tracks include, ‘Problems’ which is an introspection of the everyday struggles that individuals face, from financial hardship, health, to personal conflicts.
The EP also has ‘Health is Wealth’ which emphasises the importance of physical and mental well-being, especially in the context of success and wealth. It’s a timely reminder that true prosperity cannot be enjoyed without good health.
As debt continues to be a pressing issue for many, the third track ‘Loans’ dives into the consequences of borrowing, living within and beyond one’s means.
The forth track ‘I Love Money’ is a bold and unapologetic declaration of the importance of achieving financial freedom. Trey La declares his love for money and emphasises the need for financial literacy.
The role of birth and privilege in determining one's opportunities in life is captured extensively on ‘Womb Lottery.’ It also inspires you to work for success regardless of your status, background or pedigree in life.
The track 6 titled ‘Legalize It’, talks about the commercial prospects of the controversial plant, sativa. It highlights how most Africans have limited its use to smoking and not cashing in on its commercial prospects like many developed countries.

The book, ‘The Money Trey’, which will be released in the coming weeks is targeted at teenagers and young adults, to inspire, remind and guide them to make responsible choices amidst their ambitions for financial freedom and societal pressures.
This dual project sets Trey La apart from other artistes, as he merges music with literature to create a multifaceted experience for his audience.
Trey La's unique project positions him as a trailblazer, being the first Ghanaian and global artiste to combine an EP and a book in this manner.
This milestone is expected to not only elevate his status in the music industry but also inspire other artists to think beyond traditional releases.
He is one of the most learned recording artistes in Ghana, holding an MBA, FMVA, Bachelor's degree, Higher National Diploma, and over 20 different certificates in various fields. He is the son of Chief Superintendent Dr. Sarah Aba-Afari, the first female PhD holder in the Ghana Police Service.
Trey La is not just releasing music, he is making history.
