Dr Gideon Boako, the spokesperson for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted Bawumia's transformative role as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and his tenure as Vice President in reshaping the political landscape of the country.
Dr Boako emphasised how Dr Bawumia has moved Ghanaian politics away from a focus on propaganda and towards fact-based political discourse.
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM on Monday, October 7, to celebrate the Vice President’s birthday, Dr Boako remarked, “Before Bawumia's emergence, political parties primarily engaged in attacks against one another. However, Bawumia has redefined this approach, earning praise for his commitment to integrity in politics, especially in contrast to the practices of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).”
Dr Boako also referenced Franklin Cudjoe, the Founder and President of IMANI Africa, who celebrated Bawumia on social media.
“Mr Cudjoe acknowledged Bawumia's significant impact on Ghanaian politics, particularly in steering political discussions toward fact-based policies,” Boako said, adding that Bawumia's focus on economic fundamentals has profoundly changed how Ghanaians engage with elections and assess government performance.
Dr. Gideon Boako expressed deep respect for Bawumia, stating, “He is a revolutionary figure in Ghanaian politics, and I envision him as the ideal leader for the nation.”
As Ghana celebrates Dr Bawumia’s birthday, the reflections shared by Boako and Cudjoe highlight the Vice President’s impactful journey in reshaping political discourse in the country.
As Boako noted, “As the nation looks ahead, Bawumia's role as a leader who prioritises truth and accountability remains more relevant than ever.”
