The political landscape in the Volta Region has changed over the last eight years, with many young people showing their support for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), despite the region being considered a stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to the NPP's Parliamentary Candidate for Adaklu, Bright Nyatsikor.
During a recent five-day tour of the region by the NPP's 2024 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, it was observed that the reception from the people, especially the youth, was massive.
The NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Adaklu constituency, Bright Nyatsikor, stated, “When the flagbearer visited the region, including my constituency last week, the numbers we saw were from people who, out of their love for the NPP and the developmental projects we have implemented in the region, came out organically.”
He added, “I am very much convinced that the numbers we saw are not superficial; these are organic supporters who have developed genuine admiration for the NPP.”
Bright Nyatsikor also urged the people of the region to vote for the NPP in the upcoming December 7th polls, emphasizing that the region will benefit from further development if it allows the NPP to continue governing the country.
He noted that before 2017, his constituency, Adaklu, lacked several essential amenities such as potable water.
However, the area has since benefited from potable water, a district court, an ambulance service, and a district fire station, among other initiatives.
