The North Dayi District Assembly is set to construct transit quarters for traders in a bid to bolster the local economy and promote vibrant market activities.

This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by the District Chief Executive (DCE) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Edmund Kudjoh Attah, aims to provide secure and convenient accommodation for traders, ultimately enhancing market accessibility and commerce in the district.

The announcement was made by Kudjoh Attah during the commissioning of an ultra-modern toilet facility and market sheds at the bustling charcoal market in Aveme Danyigba.

The newly commissioned infrastructure is part of a broader agenda to improve market conditions, promote hygiene, and create a conducive environment for traders and buyers alike.

Addressing the gathering, Kudjoh Attah emphasised the need for political leaders to prioritize sustainable development over short-term electoral promises.

He remarked, “As leaders seeking the mandate of the people, our focus should not be on giving handouts during election periods but on delivering tangible, lasting projects that transform the lives of our constituents.”

He urged politicians to shift from transactional politics and instead focus on impactful development initiatives that meet the real needs of the people.

“North Dayi deserves continuous development, and I am committed to ensuring we achieve this,” he stated passionately.

The planned transit quarters aim to address a significant challenge faced by traders who travel long distances to trade in the district. With access to safe, affordable, and well-maintained accommodation, traders will no longer face the burden of returning home the same day or incurring extra costs for lodging.

Kudjoh Attah used the occasion to appeal to the people of North Dayi to support his vision for the district by voting for him in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He highlighted his track record, including the many developmental projects initiated under his leadership, as evidence of his commitment to transforming North Dayi.

“I have started many projects that need continuity. I urge you to give me your mandate so we can achieve the change and development we deserve,” he said.

Additionally, he called on the electorate to support the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, citing the government’s commitment to infrastructure and economic development as critical to achieving a “better Ghana.”
