The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned the Akufo-Addo administration for its handling of the country’s economic challenges.
The NDC argues that Ghana is at a critical juncture and requires immediate reform, criticising the government for its failure to deliver on its promises.
The party contends that the current administration's economic policies have led to severe hardship for Ghanaians.
At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, November 19, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, launched a scathing attack on the government, accusing it of mismanaging the economy. He claimed that this mismanagement has resulted in “unprecedented hardships” and a deteriorating standard of living for the average Ghanaian.
The NDC says its remarks reflect a growing dissatisfaction with the Akufo-Addo government and called for urgent action to address the economic situation to end the suffering faced by the public.
“Friends, our dear nation is at a crossroads and requires an urgent reset. Not only have the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government failed to keep almost all their flagship promises to Ghanaians, but they have totally run down Ghana’s economy, leading to unprecedented hardships and an ever-worsening standard of living.”
Mr Gyamfi stated that Ghana needs experienced and stable leadership, which is exemplified by the party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
“Ghana needs the experienced and steady pair of hands H.E. John Dramani Mahama offers. His proven track record of sound economic management and the right transformational vision is what Ghana needs at a time such as this, to steer us out of our current mess.”
