Ghana forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set to be sidelined for the rest of the 2023/24 season after undergoing surgery for knee injury suffered against Angola.
Fatawu was withdrawn at halftime after feeling some discomfort in his knee.
The Ghana Football Association confirmed the Leicester City man had “significant issues with his knee,” and was not involved in Ghana’s second game against Niger.
The 20 year old posted on his Instagram page to announce a successful surgery.
“All glory be to Almighty Allah. My surgery was successful and I just want to tell you that I am okay and I am feeling good.
“I want to thank everyone for your best wishes,” he wrote.
Fatawu has registered 2 assists in 11 league appearances so for this season for Leicester City.
