Ellembelle MP Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has cut the sod for work to commence on the construction of a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School (NASS).
The project, being funded by the MP, is expected to be completed in 2025.
Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony, Mr Buah, who is an old student of the school, reiterated his commitment towards the provision of infrastructure and materials needed to enhance the standard of education in the district.
The MP, who is seeking re-election in the upcoming general elections, touted some of his achievements for NASS since he assumed office in 2009.
He mentioned the construction of the Yinson Hall, an ultra-modern Assembly Hall through a private company, a six-unit emergency classroom block, and a Visual Arts classroom block.
Mr Buah said he also saw the renovation of the Science and Agricultural block through the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) as a Minister for Energy.
Others were the construction of a masters’ bungalow, an ultra-modern toilet facility for the girls, renovation of the old Assembly Hall, provision of a school bus and a pick-up van, an electrification project, and asphalt overlay in the school.
He pledged to provide the school with a new water storage tank to replace the old one, which was not functional at Yinson Hall.
Mr Buah appealed to the students to make use of the facilities at their disposal by learning hard to become prominent individuals in future.
Joseph Kwaw Blay, the Headmaster of the School, on behalf of the board and staff, expressed profound gratitude to Mr Buah for his massive and unprecedented interventions in the school.
He said upon completion, the classroom block would help ease the classroom challenge in the school.
