Former Minister of Energy and New Patriotic Party stalwart, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko says the election defeat the party has suffered at the hands of the National Democratic Congress offers the needed opportunity for introspection and self-renewal.
In a brief statement he issued Tuesday, Agyarko described the disastrous performance of the NPP as “the verdict of a justifiably angered nation” that has been visited on the NPP.
“We have heard it loud and clear. We have been duly chastened.”
“✓ Now is the time for sober reflection.
“✓ Now is the time to smoothen ruffled feathers.
“✓ Now is the time to assuage wounded sentiments across the length and breadth of our party and country.
“✓ Now is the time to examine ourselves to see if indeed we are true and faithful to the tenets and values of our tradition or have metamorphosed into an ugly shadow of what we ought to be.
“Yes, our present predicament is going to be very trying but clarifying, and we must and shall rise to the occasion of renewing our Party.
“In this, there is no doubt. More anon.”
