Asante Kotoko Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has hailed the signing of Kwame Opoku, describing him as having an “eye for goal.”
Opoku, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, sealed his transfer on Wednesday following an announcement by the club on social media.
The move is the 25-year-old’s second stint with Kotoko, having featured and netted seven goals in the 2020/21 football season before moving to USM Alger midway through the season.
"He is a fine striker, fine player, I like his level of professionalism,” Ogum told the media.
"We know he has the eye for goal and that is why we are bringing him on board to come and score, either scoring or assisting other teammates to also score.
"We only have to support him emotionally, psychologically to let him believe that he is a good quality player and that is why we brought him on board.
"As a coach, I am happy that he is back to the club.”
Kotoko have found the back of the net 10 times in 12 matches and hope to increase the tally in their super clash against Hearts of Oak on December 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
It is yet to be confirmed if Opoku will be registered in time for the upcoming clash.
