Ghanaian music sensation, Medikal, known as MDK, has recently shed light on his personal life during an exclusive interview on the Daybreak Hitz show with Andy Dosty.
The rapper openly discussed how he to took a step away from social media and disconnected communication with his management team amidst his separation from his ex-wife and co-parenting journey.
He described how he removed his SIM card from his phone to disconnect completely. This drastic step was part of his effort to find peace to heal and have his privacy during a challenging time.
"It wasn’t a lie, I took out my SIM, I blocked my manager as well,” Medikal said.
Despite these personal hurdles, Medikal was reassuring about his role as a co-parent.
"Her mom is taking good care of her, we are all taking good care of her," he further noted.
When asked why he was so vocal about the details of his separation he stated, ”that is the best way, afi ease my pain-to be vocal. I’m like yo, this is what it is. Everybody for shut up and then listen to me and the move on.”
Andy Dosty asked whether he was dating someone else at the moment after his separation with ex-wife, which he responded: ”Yeah, me I have somebody, I have peace now. I am fixed just that I don't want to put my love life and all those things out there."
When asked if he’s dating the First Lady [sister Deborah], as social media post shows him and his first ex-girlfriend, “President of stubborn academy for a reason.”
Medikal’s candid admission offers a glimmer into the complexities of balancing personal life with public persona, describing life as superstar who can’t control a lot of things out there when bloggers misquote him or change his narratives.
“There are a lot of things you can’t control”, reminding his fans of the importance of self-care and family.
Fella Makafui and Medikal announced their separation in May 2024, four years after getting married and agreed to co-parent their daughter Island.
