A chartered economist, Felix Machott, has lauded the overwhelming victory chalked by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the December polls.

According to him, the landslide victory secured by the party would afford the leadership the chance to concentrate on addressing the challenges facing the country.

Speaking in an interview, the Osenso Branch Chairman of NDC in Wassa East Constituency in the Western Region, applauded all branch executives and stakeholders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for working hard for the party to emerge victorious in the December 7th elections.

"On behalf of the branch executives in Wassa East, and the entire membership of the NDC- I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to President-elect, H.E John Dramani Mahama and the first female Vice President-elect, H.E, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, on the decisive victory chalked in the December 7, elections.

He said this resounding victory, demonstrates that the NDC is not just an alternative political party, but the best for the development of the country.

Consequently, he said the determination to alleviate the untold hardship Ghanaians currently face in the country, would commence immediately.

He noted that the highlights of the election showed that Ghanaians had enough trust in the leadership style, and vision of his excellency, President John Dramani Mahama and his vice Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.

The NDC financier said following the achievements of the two politicians in their respective fields they would surely reset the country.
Professor Naana Jane’s victory, as the first female Vice President of Ghana would be a source of encouragement and power for Ghanaian women and women around the globe.

Explaining the impact of the outcome of the elections, the NDC kingpin touted this as one of the most shocking political achievements ever recorded in the country.

"This kind of achievement does not come on a silver platter, but by dint of hard work and dedication," he emphasized.

"The performance of the current leadership of NDC, the record, hard work and perseverance of all executives, which was brought to bear, contributed to achieving this victory" he added.

The chartered economist is confident that there would be a new Ghana with accountability, transparency, equity and inclusiveness.

He also said that he is very certain that "the will of the people" would guide the new government to be administratively disciplined.

Felix Machott, again said the administration of President John Dramani Mahama would introduce sound economic policies, to produce many jobs, and bring down inflation.

He said the government would equally improve the struggling exchange rate, to reposition the country's currency.

"The government will also improve the country's educational sector".

Aside from that, he said the respect for the rule of law and other elements of governance to guarantee good governance, would help resuscitate the country's past glory both internally and internationally.
