The Agona West Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expelled 280 members, including the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Cynthia Morrison.
The expelled members have been indefinitely barred from identifying as party members, holding positions within the party, attending or participating in party meetings or activities, and using any party symbols or flags.
The expulsion was unanimously agreed upon during an Expanded Constituency Executive Committee meeting held on December 15.

The decision is effective December 16, 2024.
This decision stems from multiple complaints by party members against the expelled individuals, accusing them of running as independent candidates, endorsing other political parties, or supporting independent candidates in the recent parliamentary elections.

In a statement issued on December 16, Constituency Chairman Alhaji Gibrine Tanko explained that the party’s constitution requires such measures to ensure discipline and preserve unity within its ranks.
