President John Dramani Mahama has credited his resounding victory in the December 7, 2024, general elections to divine intervention and the unwavering prayers of the Ghanaian people.
He expressed his gratitude during a Christian National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, 12 January 2025, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
Addressing a congregation of religious leaders, government officials, and citizens, President Mahama highlighted the pivotal role of faith in his political journey.
He called for collective action to rebuild the nation, emphasising the importance of unity in overcoming challenges.
The thanksgiving service provided an opportunity for reflection and gratitude for the peaceful and transparent electoral process.
President Mahama lauded Ghanaians for setting aside their differences to place their trust in divine guidance during the election period.
“This triumph belongs to all of us as a nation united in faith and hope,” the President remarked.
“It is a testament to the will of God and the collective prayers of millions of Ghanaians who believed that God would steer us through.”
