Minister nominee for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has pledged to focus on completing all ongoing road projects across the country.
Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Monday, January 20, he emphasised that the president has already made it clear that completing these projects is a priority, and he fully supports this commitment.
He acknowledged that while new projects may be necessary to address urgent needs, his primary focus in the first year will be to complete critical road infrastructure that has been delayed or abandoned.
He assured the committee that these projects would be revived and completed to meet their original objectives and improve road safety and accessibility.
“We are committed to completing ongoing projects – that will be our top priority,” he stated. “The president has expressed his determination to ensure these projects are finished, and we are dedicated to fulfilling that commitment.”
He also recognised the challenges faced in the road sector, including several projects left incomplete due to various reasons.
Despite these obstacles, Mr Agbodza assured that his ministry would work diligently to bring these projects to completion and improve the country’s road infrastructure for the benefit of the public.
“We will focus on ensuring that all abandoned or delayed road projects are completed and serve the purpose for which they were originally intended,” he concluded.
