Tensions flared once more in Parliament on Friday morning as the Minority members engaged in another heated argument with Majority members over the ongoing vetting process.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, January 31, saw the Minority accuse the Majority of acting in bad faith after proceedings had initially commenced without their participation.
The heated exchange further deepened the rift between both sides, casting a shadow over the integrity of the vetting process.
The Minority, upon entering the vetting session, insisted that the Majority had misled them.
According to them, they had been invited for a meeting to resolve concerns regarding the vetting process, only to later discover that the Majority had proceeded with the exercise in their absence.
Their accusations led to a chaotic scene, disrupting the already tense proceedings.
Despite the disorder, the Majority maintained that they were simply fulfilling their constitutional duty.
They argued that the absence of the Minority had no bearing on the legitimacy of the vetting process and that Parliament could not afford unnecessary delays.
However, the Minority insisted that the move was a betrayal of trust, further straining the fragile relationship between both factions.
The leaders of both sides eventually went into a brief meeting, after which they all reconvened to start the vetting of the Health Minister nominee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.
