Kofi Adams has questioned the fairness of rewarding management committee members at the same or higher level as players who put in physical effort on the pitch.
The Sports Minister nominee, speaking on JoySports, expressed his discomfort with the practice, arguing that while officials deserve compensation, players should always be the priority.
"Does it really make sense that I play a full 90-minute game, we win, and I receive a reward—yet someone who didn’t play at all receives the same or even more?"
While acknowledging the role of officials in team success, Adams insisted that their financial rewards should not overshadow those of the players.
"I have no issue with rewarding those who have spent time with the team in a different capacity. However, if their compensation equals or surpasses that of the players who actually take to the field, then I have a personal problem with that."
His comments reflect long-standing concerns about how bonuses are distributed within Ghanaian football, particularly during international tournaments.
