The wife of Francis Frimpong, the fan killed during the Ghana Premier League game between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko, Yaa Gifty, is yet to come terms with the death of her husband.
Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley, was stabbed to death in an act of violence involving fans at the Nana Kormansah II Stadium on Sunday in their Ghana Premier League matchday 19 meeting.
Gifty says she was looking forward to welcoming her husband home after he left Kumasi for the first game of the second half of the season.
Speaking to LUV FM, the wife, emotional at their residence, refused to accept the death of Pooley as she wept.
"He told me [he was going to watch the game]. I am waiting for my husband and I have left everything to God," she said.
"When the bus set off, he call. He did same when he got to his destination. Even when he called me to tell me he was not being allowed to enter the stadium, I told him, he will go.
"At 3pm, my husband had died and I had no idea about it?"
Pooley’s wife, Yaa Gifty, remains in shock over her husband's passing, breaking down in tears during an interview with LUV FM's @stephenzando.
