Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Affairs Minister, has celebrated the election of Madam Jane Gasu Aheto, Mr Kwami Edem Senanu and Madam Amma A. Twum-Amoah to various portfolios in the African Union Commission.
The election took place at the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Minister extended a congratulatory message to all three for making Ghana proud.
Madam Jane Gasu Aheto will now serve on the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL) while Mr Kwami Edem Senanu was successfully re-elected to serve on the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC).
Madam Amma A. Twum-Amoah won an emphatic victory as Commissioner.
“We made it! A 100 per cent win for Ghana in Addis Ababa,” Mr Ablakwa said.
He said all Ghana’s three candidates had won big!; saying “So far, only Ghana appears to have achieved this feat”.
“Super commendations to our campaign team, our Mission in Addis Ababa, the Foreign Ministry and President John Mahama. The Black Star rises again! For God and Country.”
