Ghana’s U-16 female side, the Black Damsels, recorded a resounding victory over Malta’s U-16 side 8-1 in their first game of the UEFA Development tournament.
The Black Damsels picked up an 8-1 victory in a thrilling encounter at the Centenary Stadium, Ta' Qali-Attard.
Joe Nana Adarkwa's side enjoyed a bright start to the game as they opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Seidatu Wahab.
A brilliant play from the left flank was followed by a great shot into the right side of the post to give Ghana the lead.
Malta grabbed the equaliser in the 31st minute having won a penalty earlier.
However, Ghana restored their lead immediately with Priscilla Mensah finding the back of the net two minutes after Malta's equaliser. The first half ended 2-1 in Ghana's favor.

It was a one-way traffic after the recess as Ghana turned on the style. Christiana Ashiaku, a standout performer, scored twice in the 47th and the 52nd minutes, extending Ghana's lead to 4-1.
Daniella Abass also scored her first goal in the 65th minute and another in the 73rd minute to stretch the team's advantage. Ghana's relentless attack continued, with Gloria Adomako Ameaa joining the scoring spree in the 82nd minute, making it 7-1.
Wahab scored her second goal in the 89th minute, capping off a remarkable team performance. The game ended 8-1 in Ghana's favor.
Ghana's next game is against Ireland on Thursday, March 6.
