President John Dramani Mahama has celebrated Ghana’s exceptional religious harmony, highlighting the peaceful coexistence of Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths.
Speaking at the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at the Black Star Square in Accra, the President praised the country for fostering a society where religious tolerance and unity are central to its national identity.
“We have built a society where Christians and Muslims coexist peacefully, alongside people of other religions,” President Mahama said. “We share in each other’s celebrations, support one another in times of need, and work together for the progress of our nation.”
He further emphasised that this harmonious coexistence is a blessing that must not be taken for granted.
“This is a blessing we must never take for granted,” he stated. “The great Prophet Muhammad teaches us that the greatest among us are those who promote peace for others.”
“In times of need, we have to come together as one people, united by our shared values and common goal of national progress,” the President added.
He concluded by calling on all Ghanaians to continue upholding these principles for the continued prosperity of the nation.
