A man has been alledgedly killed at Binduri in the Upper East Region and his body burnt together with a motorcycle he is believed to have been riding.
It is unclear who the culprit(s) of the attack is (are) at the moment, but the killing is most likely linked to the ongoing chieftaincy conflict in Bawku.
The long-standing conflict has recently spilled over to areas such as Pusiga and Binduri, which are neighbouring districts to Bawku.
Details of how the young man was killed are sketchy, but people within the vicinity suspect he may have been ambushed.
The photograph of his lifeless body shows the suspected assailant standing close by, his shadow revealing that he may have been carrying a rifle.
The victim is suspected to have been shot and his body was later dragged into the nearby dry grasses and set ablaze together with his motorcycle.
The police are yet to officially comment on the incident, which has come barely 24 hours after the Inspector General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, wrapped up his visit to the region after disturbances between police and some Kusasi youth in Bawku left one person dead last Wednesday.
