The demonstration on Monday, May 5, 2025, against the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo was marked not only by a huge turnout but also by a distinctive choice of attire by some residents from Tema West who joined the march.

Instead of the usual red and black t-shirts, they donned replicas of judicial robes in red, complete with wigs.
Dubbed the #SaveTheJudiciary demonstration, it was led by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Other political parties, including the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), National Democratic Party (NDP), People’s National Party (PNP), and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), among others, also joined the protest.

The main objective of the protesters was to call on the government to immediately withdraw the suspension of the Chief Justice.
