Oasis International School, based in Greda Estates (Teshie-Nungua), has partnered with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and former Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, to undertake a community outreach initiative at the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.
The visit, which was organised over a short period, received prompt backing from the school’s Board, Management, and broader community.
According to school officials, Christine-Marie Nyantakyi, CEO of Oasis International School, initiated discussions with the Board and Management upon receiving a call to support the project.

“Our school is built on the core value of love — love for our learners, our teachers, and the wider community,” said Theodore Dowuona-Hyde, Principal of Oasis International School.
“Supporting this outreach felt like a natural extension of that mission.”
As part of the visit, Oasis International School donated ten 50kg bags of rice and 100 bags of sachet water to the inmates. The gesture was intended to contribute to the welfare of inmates and support efforts at rehabilitation and reintegration.

The day featured a football match and interaction with inmates, with organisers describing it as an opportunity to better understand the lived experiences of individuals in the correctional system.
Dowuona-Hyde noted that some stories shared by inmates highlighted broader social and legal issues that may warrant further reflection.
The school plans to incorporate insights from the visit into its student development and character education programmes.

School leadership has also indicated a willingness to support similar initiatives in the future in collaboration with PFAG and Nyantakyi.
The management of Nsawam Medium Security Prisons, led by Commander DDP Seidu, welcomed the visitors and provided access for the engagement.
The initiative forms part of Oasis International School’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, which includes outreach and engagement beyond the academic environment.
