Slovenia-based midfielder Abdul Rashid Fuseini has expressed his ambition to represent Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, describing it as his ultimate career goal.
The 21-year-old previously featured for Ghana at the U17 level, where he played alongside Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Uzair Alhassan during a WAFU tournament in Niger back in 2018.

While a senior call-up may seem distant for now, Fuseini remains optimistic and committed to the long-term dream.
“Right now, that's my main goal right now, to play for the Black Stars. Because if you have a Black Star stamp on your profile on Transfermarkt, it's something you look at and feel happy,” he told Joy Sports.
“So that's my main goal right now, to play for the Black Stars. So we're just hoping, we just have to work hard and keep trying and see. You never know. Some may get it early, some can get it later.”
Fuseini’s journey to professional football has been unconventional. He began in Tamale and was identified by Accra-based Shooting Stars at a national U15 camp.
He went on to earn trials at Sheffield United, Wolves, Manchester United, and Brentford, but could not secure a contract due to age-related restrictions.
He eventually joined Serbian side Backa Topola before moving to Slovenian outfit NK Tabor in 2023, where he has spent the past two seasons working to revive his career.
