The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Canada Chapter has extended heartfelt congratulations to James Gyakye Quayson on his appointment as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration designate, describing it as a well-deserved elevation and a victory for perseverance, loyalty, and leadership.
In a press release signed by the Chapter Chairman, Gameli R. K. Atakuma, the group praised the MP's resilience and unwavering commitment to public service, particularly in the face of political and legal battles in recent years.
Mr Gameli said the appointment is not only a triumph for the Assin North MP but also for the grassroots members and diaspora Ghanaians who have consistently stood by him.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to your unwavering dedication, resilience, and commitment to public service,” the statement read. “Your journey has been an inspiration to many, especially the people of Assin North, who have stood firmly by your side through thick and thin.”
The Chapter also expressed deep appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for fulfilling his promise to the people of Assin North by recognizing one of their own in the new government.
The statement noted that the appointment reflects Mahama’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusiveness in his administration.
“We also extend our gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, for keeping his promise to the sons and daughters of Assin North Constituency. This appointment reaffirms your belief in meritocracy and the empowerment of capable leaders to drive Ghana forward.”
The NDC Canada Chapter underscored its pride in seeing one of its members ascend to such a high-profile diplomatic position, noting that Mr. Quayson’s rise from the local political trenches of Assin North to the global platform of diplomacy symbolizes hope and integrity.
“This momentous announcement is not only a source of pride for the good people of Assin North but also a shining reflection of the values, resilience, and commitment that Hon. Quayson has consistently demonstrated in his political journey. We are thrilled to see one of our own—deeply rooted in the diaspora—rise to this prestigious position.”
The group reaffirmed its unwavering support for Mr Quayson as he assumes his new duties, encouraging him to remain a strong voice for justice, development, and national unity.
“As you take on this new responsibility, know that the NDC Canada Chapter stands firmly behind you. We urge you to remain a steadfast advocate for justice, development, and the welfare of all Ghanaians. We have no doubt that you will serve with integrity, wisdom, and a deep sense of patriotism.”
The release concluded with a message of support and optimism, expressing the Chapter’s hope that Hon. Quayson’s tenure will be marked by excellence, impact, and visionary leadership.
“Once again, congratulations on this historic milestone. May your tenure be marked by excellence, impact, and transformative leadership. The NDC Canada Chapter is proud and inspired.”
