The final slot for the Central Regional Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz has officially been claimed and it’s Wesley Girls Senior High School that made it through.
As the last qualifier unfolded, Wesley Girls locked horns with Swedru SHS, Edinaman SHS and Aggrey Memorial in a highly contested showdown. All four schools had their moments, but it was Wesley Girls who steadily rose to the top and never looked back.
The first round ended with Swedru SHS leading with 21 points, closely followed by Aggrey Memorial with 20. Wesley Girls held third place with 16 points, while Edinaman trailed with 5 points.

Things took a dramatic turn in the second round. Represented by a set of identical twins, Wesley Girls aced the speed race, climbing to the top with 24 points. Aggrey Memorial remained in second with 23, while Swedru SHS dropped to third with 19 points. Edinaman still held onto their 5 points.
From there, Wesley Girls stayed in control. They maintained their lead through round three, finishing with 37 points. Aggrey Memorial followed with 33, Swedru SHS had 23, and Edinaman improved slightly with 12 points.

The final round came with rising tension as Aggrey Memorial began to close the gap. At one point, it looked like they might snatch the win, but Wesley Girls held their ground and crossed the finish line with 40 points. Aggrey Memorial ended just behind with 37 points, three points shy of victory. Swedru SHS and Edinaman followed with 26 and 15 points, respectively.

With this win, Wesley Girls SHS joins Mfantsipim School, St Augustine’s College and University Practice SHS in the finals of the Central Regional NSMQ Championship. All is now set for the final contest, where only one school will walk away with the title.
