Betway Ghana has handed over two solar-powered stations to the Danchira Ballagonnor community in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
The project, under its Power Up initiative, provided residents with a much-needed power source to charge mobile devices and ensure lighting for children to study after dark.

The handover ceremony drew chiefs and community members, who welcomed the development with excitement.

Country Manager of Betway Ghana, Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah, noted that the company is committed to expanding the initiative to reach more underserved communities.
“With Power Up, we are going beyond entertainment to provide real, lasting solutions. At Betway, we believe access to power and connectivity should not be a privilege but a necessity.
"This is part of our broader vision to promote sustainable energy inclusion and create meaningful, community-based impact across Ghana.”

Former Ghana captain and Betway ambassador, Stephen Appiah, described the Power Up project as a transformative effort and expressed pride in his role supporting it.
“I mean, I'm so excited about being a brand ambassador [for Betway]. As a brand ambassador, these are the things that we want to see—giving back to the community—and that's what we are witnessing this morning,” Appiah said.
“I mean, I hear some of the stories—how this place, after six o'clock, has no light; it's total darkness. And I think what Betway is doing this morning… I'm so, so, so, so happy for the people here.”
