The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga East, Edmund Agboh, has assured the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) of the Assembly’s commitment to partner with the company to enhance water supply and services within the municipality.
Mr. Agboh gave this assurance during a stakeholder meeting on Saturday, 26th July 2025, when he paid a working visit to the GWCL office in the Ga East Municipality to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
The engagement focused on exploring how the Assembly can support GWCL through infrastructure development, tax incentives, or workforce development to ensure reliable water supply for residents and businesses.
"Water is life, and the Ghana Water Company plays a vital role in the well-being of our people and the growth of our local economy," Mr. Agboh said.
"As an Assembly, we want to know how best we can help you overcome challenges and expand your services to meet the needs of our growing communities."
During the meeting, the MCE asked GWCL officials about their goals and challenges, saying, “What infrastructure support do you need most? Are there incentives that can help you operate more effectively? How can we build the capacity of your workforce to deliver better services?”
A representative of the GWCL welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and encouraging. "This engagement shows that the Assembly understands the importance of sustainable water delivery. We face issues like aging infrastructure and growing demand, so any support will go a long way," the official said.
Mr. Agboh emphasized that the Assembly will continue to build strong partnerships with key service providers to improve the lives of residents. "Our doors are open for continuous dialogue. Together, we will find practical solutions that ensure every household has access to safe and reliable water," he added.
The stakeholder meeting forms part of the MCE’s broader agenda to engage strategic institutions and create an enabling environment for essential services to thrive in the Ga East Municipality.
