Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, is set to deliver the keynote address at the highly anticipated 2025 Mining & Minerals Convention, scheduled to take place from August 26 to 27 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
The Office of the Chief of Staff confirmed that Mr Debrah will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the Convention, which is themed “Shaping the Future of Ghana’s Gold Industry.”
His keynote is expected to highlight the government’s commitment to responsible mining practices, sustainability, increased local value retention, and positioning Ghana as Africa’s trusted hub for gold.
The two-day event is Ghana’s premier gathering for the gold and minerals sector.
It will bring together top-level government officials, regulators, industry leaders, investors, and innovators to align policy, finance, and sustainability along the country’s gold value chain.
Several high-profile speakers are confirmed for the 2025 edition, including Armah Kofi Buah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who will deliver both ministerial remarks and the Convention’s closing address, Martin Kwaku Ayisi, CEO of the Minerals Commission, who will provide updates on regulatory frameworks and sector governance, Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), who will focus on responsible gold sourcing and the industry’s digital transformation and Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, who will outline industry trends and highlight priorities for private sector collaboration.
This year’s Convention will feature presidential and ministerial addresses, policy dialogues, technical panels, exhibitions, and networking sessions — all geared toward unlocking investment and driving innovation in Ghana’s mining sector.
