Chief of Staff Julius Debrah was visibly moved to tears during the wreath-laying ceremony held at the Jubilee House on Thursday, August 6, as Ghana continued to mourn the eight lives lost in the tragic military helicopter crash.
The solemn event, which took place at the Ceremonial Garden in front of the Presidency, formed part of the official three-day national mourning period declared by the government.
It brought together high-ranking officials, grieving families, military representatives, and members of the public to honour the memory of the fallen.

Mr Debrah, who had worked closely with several of the deceased—most notably Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the late Minister for Defence—could not contain his emotions as he laid a wreath in tribute.
Among those being honoured were Dr Omane Boamah; Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology; Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Mr Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary aspirant; and three military officers: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The ceremony included candle lighting and silent reflection, with tributes pouring in from across the nation and the international community.
