The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has commenced in the Northern Region with nearly 20,000 candidates, comprising 9,621 males and 9,792 females.
The exams are being conducted at 29 designated centers across the region.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Northern Region, Owusu Frederick, it was noted that the examination, which began with practical sessions on August 5, will run until September 19. A team of supervisors, assistant supervisors, and invigilators has been deployed to oversee the process.
The statement added that the GES and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) are working together to safeguard the integrity and fairness of the exams. The Directorate extended its best wishes to all candidates, urging them to approach the exams with seriousness and confidence.
It further expressed appreciation to parents, teachers, and the security services for their support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the examinations.
