Hearts of Oak completed a double over Heart of Lions within three days, securing a 1-0 victory on Wednesday night at the University of Ghana Stadium in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
The win followed a 2-0 triumph for the Phobians on Sunday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, which earned them the 2025 Homowo Cup.
The only goal of Wednesday’s match came just before halftime when Ransford Mensah’s free kick deflected into the Heart of Lions net.
There were no further goals after the break, as the match ended 1-0 in favour of Hearts of Oak.
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani named a much-rotated lineup for the clash, leaving out captain Benjamin Asare, Kelvin Osei Asibey, Hamzah Issah and other regular starters.
The Phobians will next face Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars, who defeated Asante Kotoko 2-1, on Friday, while Heart of Lions are set to take on Asante Kotoko.
