The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has assured that the government has fully met its financial obligations to the contractor working on the Ofankor–Nsawam road project.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the project with President John Mahama, the Minister disclosed that government has cleared all outstanding arrears owed the contractor, paving the way for steady progress on the critical highway.

President John Mahama has already charged the contractor to complete the work on schedule, reminding him that the government will hold him to the June 2026 deadline.
The Minister reiterated Mr Mahama's position that the government will hold the contractor to his deadline commitment.

The Ofankor–Nsawam road, a key artery linking Accra to parts of the Eastern and Ashanti regions, has long been plagued by stalled works and traffic congestion.

Commuters have expressed optimism that the latest government intervention will finally bring relief to one of the busiest corridors in the country.
