The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Monday sent a delegation to formally invite President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A statement issued by the Presidency said the royal funeral was scheduled to take place from September 15-18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
It said the delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I delivered the invitation during a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Presidency in Accra.
President Mahama extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and Asanteman on the passing of the Asantehemaa, acknowledging the immense loss.
The President assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the funeral and pay his final respects to the late Asantehemaa.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
