A tragic accident on the Obuasi–Dunkwa Highway has claimed the life of one person and left several others injured.
The crash occurred on Tuesday, September 9, near Sanso Junction when a Kia truck with registration number AS 1434-17, driven by 31-year-old Yahaya Abdul Samed, veered into the opposite lane and collided with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AS 3789-21 driven by 32-year-old Ibrahim Yusif.
The bus, travelling from Obuasi to Dunkwa, was carrying 23 passengers.
The collision resulted in multiple injuries, and the victims were rushed to the Obuasi Government Hospital and the AGA Health Foundation Hospital for treatment.
Sadly, 62-year-old Mary Boatemaa, a passenger on the Sprinter bus, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been deposited at the Obuasi Government Hospital mortuary.
Police investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
